Well okay, we have reached the final weekend of our whirlwind tour of technology tools for teaching (couldn't help the alliteration). Everyone still seems to be breathing. . .or at least is faking it very well :^D
I have graded everything submitted. I said we would wait until tonight to finish the iMovie software checklists as well as the emerging technology checklist. Both will be checked by a peer and then submitted to me for your grade. If you have lost a checklist, please bring a fresh copy to class.
TaskStream: Mark Rounds came over this morning and we discussed your narratives. As of about 9am, only Peter, Carrie, Kim, Liz, and Mark had written their narratives or shared with him on GoogleDocs. In discussing the editing aspect of his work, he has requested that EVERYONE (except Mark), create a GoogleDoc to share with him, mrounds5@gmail.com, and put your narratives there first. This makes it a whole lot easier to give you feedback in the text of your writing. He is also creating a good sample narrative list from current 422 student narratives he has read. This should be ready by Friday evening. You will have until Saturday evening to submit the draft narratives for NETS III-V.
This weekend: we will go over the iMovie & Emerging Technology Checklists. You will need to have a peer view and initial your checklist, then you will submit them to me. Once that is finished you may work on your TaskStream narratives. If you are finished with your narratives and your checklists this evening (AND I HAVE PHYSICALLY SEEN THEM IN GOOGLEDOCS AND ON TASKSTREAM), you will not be required to attend class tomorrow. You will receive feedback from Mark by Monday. The final narratives will be due on TaskStream by Wed.
This Weekend's Question: What has been your favorite assignment in this course and why?
Not the narratives! :) I have really enjoyed learning about some new tools that I can even apply at my current job.. For example, i have now set the new standard for presentation by using Presi and creating my own animation shorts. Being a closet geek- I am really excited about all the cool things available to use as a teacher.. creating lesson plans seemd like a daunting task, but there aoppears to be hope.. oh and I can't forget the instructor.. Thnaks for your patience!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment was the classroom newsletter because I feel I will use it the most out of everything i have learned in class. I could do weekly newsletters to update my students parents on what is going on in class.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment for this class was the imovie. I had a blast editing the recordings, as well as adding the voice over and special effects. Just one more reason to get a MAC :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment has definitely been the blog. I am so excited to have all my blood, sweat, and tears displayed for the world to see. It's such a great way to create a portfolio that is easy to share.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment was the blog because is something I can display all the work I have done in this class.
ReplyDeleteI liked the power point presentation, because it really put me in the mindset to figure out how to use all the digital tools we've been introduced to in my future classroom.
ReplyDeleteI liked the iMovie assignment. Even though I do not own a MAC I think I might buy one now. Making a movie was so easy!!
ReplyDeleteI actually need to learn Excel, so the crossword puzzle was a great step towards learning it. Plus I like playing with colors.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment in this course was the creation of the blog. I would love to set up a classroom blog when I am a teacher. I would include educational links on my blog so my students would have direct sources from which to gather information for their projects and assignments. The links could also take my students directly to a math website so they could practice their math facts. I would also post nightly homework, class information and any needed classroom supplies on my blog. It would be a fantastic communication tool to use with my students and their parents!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed learning all the different things you can do with a blog!
ReplyDeleteiMovie because it is easy to use and I can immediately start using it to create home movies with all of my stored pictures and videos.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Crossword on Excel
ReplyDeleteI would have to say the blog because it will remain there forevermore! I've posted lots of helpful links and all my assignments will be available at the click of a mouse! (just in case I forget how to do one of the projects) :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment was the Imovie because it is something I will definitely use again!
ReplyDeleteThe Powerpoint assignment was by far my favorite! I've always been intimidated by Powerpoint ... So happy I was forced to learn how to use it and the big surprise was it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment was the blog. I think it can be a great tool in my future classroom!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed making the PSA on iMovie! I liked this project because it was fairly easy to do and I think my kids would really enjoy making one with me!
ReplyDeleteLearning the prezi tool and how to use it was something I have since shared with many others. I really enjoyed making a presentation using the prezi.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was the blog by far. I can use it for any class and one for every year! ...awsome-o!
ReplyDeleteI really loved doing the PowerPoint presentation. It was fun learning to add graphics, have them fly in differently and make the transitions between the slides.
ReplyDeleteI was able to do much more once I learned about Inspiration and I think it became one of my favorite programs... I love the embedding programs, because I've been able to use it outside of classs!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite assignment is the iMovie because it is easy.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tie between Inspiration and the iMovie...I enjoyed doing both of those!
ReplyDeleteiMovie was my favorite. I am now going to have to purchase a Mac. I have been putting off organizing my Family videos...iMovie will motivate me.
ReplyDeleteiMovie was amazing. It made me wish I had bought a Mac and not my PC. Next computer I buy will be a Mac
ReplyDeletenot the narratives for sure, but the imovie.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed to learn new tools like this, it's fun and useful. I like wiki too, it's practical.
Maybe it's late but I will say the imovie. For sure, I will learn more because I want to try it again.
